About Valeria

Angels, birds and flowers, painted by hand

Born in Brazil and educated in the UK, Valeria Cesario is a self-taught artist whose work bridges the classic and the contemporary. Heavily influenced by modern European art, her practice balances a love for the principles of design with an exploration of luminous ornamentation and pattern.

She knew she would be an artist at about eight, the day she first saw a full collection of coloured pencils. She learned from the masters through years of study in London’s libraries, and has taught art to hundreds of children in state schools as a volunteer.
